Piotr Peszat is a composer and sound artist based in Cracow/Poland who works at the intersection of instruments, electronics and video. In his works, he combines sound with digital culture, integrating acoustic and electronic, historical and contemporary contexts.

His music has been presented at Europe’s leading contemporary music festivals, including the Lucerne Festival, MFMW ‘Warsaw Autumn’, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Gaudeamus Muziekweek and the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. He has collaborated with ensembles including Ensemble MusikFabrik, Klangforum Wien, Nadar Ensemble, Ensemble Modern and the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra.

Alongside his compositional practice, Peszat has extensive experience performing contemporary music, particularly through his collaboration with Spółdzielnia Muzyczna Contemporary Ensemble. His pedagogical work focuses on composition, contemporary music, electroacoustic and computer music, multimedia practices and the development of individual artistic identities.

Peszat graduated with distinction from the Music Academy in Cracow after studying composition with Krzysztof Meyer and completing his master's at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, where he studied with Simon Steen-Andersen and Niels Rønsholdt. Peszat holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Academy of Music in Cracow (2018). He received habilitation in 2022.

In addition to his independent work, he creates music for theatre and film. He works as an adjunct professor in the Electroacoustic Music Studio at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Cracow.
